YOKOCHO's debut on Ransom Note Records sub-label, Insult To Injury (run by remixer Timothy Clerkin) is a low fidelity, nostalgic tour de force. Hailing from Antwerp, Belgium, YOKOCHO has inherited the New Beat mantle and run with it; putting his own, inimitable spin on it! The EP will also be available on cassette tape, where it truly belongs.

Lead single Everyday Diamonds is a feel-good summer hit, perfect to lift one’s spirits heavenwards, post-lockdown! Data brings us crashing back to earth with some distorted, visceral 303 action, providing a down & dirty antidote to the single.

Other Side Of The Mirror brings yet more lofi drum machine groove to the table, before we’re drowned in a sea of lush, ambient vintage synthesizers at the breakdown. See You There is the perfect way to close out – if robots in the 80’s dreamt of paradise islands, this was the soundtrack to their dreams. Sublime.

Label owner, Timothy Clerkin has produced a 303-propelled, Acid-House dance-floor destroying remix of Everyday Diamonds, which provides a counterpoint to the wobbly tape, slow-mo originals, ensuring that the YOKOCHO sound can be translated into any club environment.
